6. BEACH FOSSILS "YOUTH"

for us antipodeans with a long hot summer ahead, Brookyln based indie pop band Beach Fossils will bring a nice cool sea breeze into our lives et their song Youth will make a perfect addition to your summer playlist {especially if you are presently beach deprived as i am}. but if you happen to live in that other hemisphere, then you can let the sun-drenched nostalgia wash over you with fond memories.

Beach Fossils have concocted their own blend of catchy laid back jangly surf pop, Youth is just one of many awesome sundazed tracks from their self-titled debut album, which is a must have.

it hits you instantly, that familiar et oh so catchy twang of "surf" guitars, followed by a casual post-punk drum kick/beat et laid back bassline, finally a wave rolls in bringing dreamy vocals drenched in reverb, all combining to evoke a nostalgia for long lost summers spent at the beach as a kid. singer Dustin Payseur's carefree lyrics gently wash over us then slowly recede back out to sea, leaving us refreshed et ready for the next wave.

Youth is a catchy as hell pop song that will keep your feet tapping long after it ends.
