i thought i'd liven things up a bit with the ultra-broody, intoxicating, goth-tinged lead single, Vessel from L.A-based dark-wave/avant-pop high priestess Nika Roza Danilova aka Zola Jesus off her forthcoming album "Conatus" (2011).
Vessel is a mesmerizing, dark-wave-infused requiem, Danilova's shadowy, incantatory vocals resound through the darkness, her voice acting as a guiding light, summoning all the lost souls. Vessel ends in an intense cacophony of relentless, abrasive industrial beats et a deluge of swirling, screeching synth washes that continue to build before finally imploding, leaving a deafening silence in its wake.
